Bring Soup

I've been fighting it for a couple of days now. First a sore throat, then a couple of sneezes, then a LOT of sneezes, and now the stuffiness. Yes, I'll finally admit it. I have a cold. Just in time for Winter Break.

Although yesterday I wanted to write about Dickens Fair, and I wanted to write about work, and I wanted to tell you about my evil genius secret santa scam, today all I want to do is curl up on the couch with my box of tissue, my lappy, and my blankie (and really, I wouldn't mind having CSB to curl up with me... maybe make me some tea every now and again).

So, here it is, the unceremonious "I'm sick" *pout pout poor me* blog.

Oh... and I've changed my mind... I don't want soup any more. I want extra spicy red beans and rice. Spicy enough to scare the germs away and clear the sinuses.

I really hope you feel better. Sick sucks. Love the Calvin & Hobbes though.

Fried Rice with Sirocha sauce opens me up every time.

Hope you get to feeling better soon.

When I feel a sickness attempting to enter my body I eat a few garlic cloves raw and straight. I also am a fan of the hot sauce treatment. Habanero and Scotch Bonnet peppers over beans or in black bean soup. Good times.

My brother claims that the garlic cloves work because they keep other people away from me... I don't mind because my wife is already used to my odor.

I went to our local farmer's market in Laguna Beach last weekend and got a jar of Habanero salsa. About midweek I was feeling like a cold was coming on but didn't think too much about it. I had some chips and salsa and this stuff was so hot, I needed about 5 minutes between bites to recover. The next day my cold was completely gone. So were my taste buds and 90% of the skin on the roof of my mouth.

sorry you feel so poorly, there are other, non food ways to make yourself feel better...and you can even have CSB help if you want!
